Here at school I’m taking an engineering class and it happens to have Autodesk Inventor Pro and a few 3D printers. We also have the opportunity to make something on it before break. Question is, what the heck should I make? I’m drawing so many blanks and am just stuck. It has to be school appropriate and not TOO big. Thanks!

https://www.thingiverse.com/ has a lot of neat stuff. Including silly stuff like Homer Simpson models and Millenium Falcon models.

What about a miniature version of your favorite automobile wheel?

I love messing around in CAD but I’ve got the same problem. Never can decide what I want to do, unless I’ve been turning something over in my head for a long time.
Find something broken and make a replacement part

For my first CAD project years ago (no 3d printing then) I brought in an old water pump casting and measured up what I could figure out by hand. It looked pretty good in a rotating 3d model, the rest of the class was impressed ;)

Make it perfectly balanced and in a Car symbol design! It is your chance to make something fast and portable!

Make a little piston pen holder.
Edit: Or just go all out and make an entire scaled down engine.

Do you have a hatchback, have a parcel shelf in your hatch, have a snowbrush and live somewhere that has snow in the winter months?
